December 6, 1950 – Marines begin the 11-mile trip from Hagari to the First Marine Regiment’s position at Koto-ri. It takes 38 hours and more than 600 casualties for about 10,000 Marines to move 1,000 vehicles that distance. The Marines get strong air support from Air Force, Navy and Marine fliers.
